The brief: an agricultural training video for growers
The Association of Nadorcott Producers in Morocco (APNM) commissioned ABRID Films to produce a series of training modules. This agricultural training video is dedicated to Nadorcott mandarin pruning, a decisive practice for yield and fruit quality.
For this, APNM called on Gerhard Mostert, an international Nadorcott expert, agronomist, engineer and grower. The challenge was twofold: pass on his know-how with precision, and make it accessible to all growers, in their own language.
The shoot took place in real conditions, in the heart of the Agafay farms near Marrakech.

What the training covers
In 55 minutes, the masterclass follows a clear progression, from principle to practice.
Pruning principles
First, the expert sets out three rules: keep the tree in its space, let light in where it matters, and rejuvenate the tree from the inside.
The Central Leader system
Next, he explains why this shape improves yield, fruit quality and ease of harvest. He then demonstrates it step by step on a mature tree.
Timing and follow-up
Finally, he details the three seasonal pruning modules and shoot management. He also shows how to restore vigor to an old tree.

Our production: from shoot to distribution
ABRID Films handled the entire production: the shoot, post-production and duplication of the content.
On set, viewers need to understand exactly where and how to cut. That’s why we filmed the demonstration directly in the orchard, as close as possible to the tree and the expert’s hands. Aerial shots also set the scene of the farm, and whiteboard explanations complement the demonstration: each principle is first explained, then applied to the tree.
In post-production, we edited the masterclass and added titles to structure each section. Gerhard Mostert’s talk, delivered in English, was dubbed into Arabic to make his expertise accessible to all growers. Finally, we handled the duplication of the content for distribution.

Why invest in agricultural training videos?
An in-person training session reaches one group, on one day. An agricultural training video, on the other hand, stays available all year round. Growers can watch it again when it’s time to prune, share it with their team leaders and use it to train new hires.
A series of modules can also cover a complete crop cycle, topic by topic. Dubbing or subtitling in Arabic and Darija widens the audience even further.
ABRID Films supports players in the sector with their video projects. Discover our page dedicated to agrifood and agriculture and our working method.
