The brief: industrial site video monitoring in a gas facility
SOMAS, the Moroccan gas storage company, commissioned ABRID Films to document on video the workover operation on the C3 cavity, at the Sidi Larbi site near Mohammedia. This was a maintenance intervention on the well of this cavity, in service since 2013.
The project is part of a long-term relationship. ABRID Films had already provided the audiovisual monitoring of the construction of this same cavity, from 2010 to 2013. We therefore knew the site, its teams and its requirements.
The goal was to document the operation on camera, keep a record of every stage and provide SOMAS with content it could use for its communication.

The challenges of filming in a gas facility
Filming a workover operation at a gas storage site requires a strict framework. Three challenges guided our work.
Safety first
First, the shoot took place in a high-security gas area. Our crew worked in PPE and in strict compliance with the site’s rules.
Filming without hindering the operation
Next, the technical teams had to be able to work normally. We therefore adapted our camera positions to the progress of the work.
Making the operation easy to follow
Finally, a workover is a complex technical operation. The images had to clearly show the main stages, from rigging up the unit to the maneuvers on the well.

Our production: film, drone and photos
For this project, ABRID Films delivered three complementary types of content.
The final film retraces the workover operation, step by step. It shows the teams at work and the scale of the resources deployed on site.
The drone footage gives an overview of the site: the workover rig, the lifting equipment and the organization of the site around the C3 cavity.
Finally, the photos complement the film. They form a visual archive of the operation, useful for reports, internal communication or presentations.

Why video monitoring for an industrial site?
An industrial site project only lasts so long, but its images remain. Video monitoring keeps a faithful record of every stage, useful long after the work is finished.
These images also serve many purposes: informing internal teams, reporting to partners and management, or showcasing the company’s know-how. On a sensitive site, they also demonstrate the rigor of safety procedures.
At ABRID Films, we support projects over the long term, from construction to maintenance. Discover our construction site video monitoring service and our page dedicated to video communication for industry.
