The brief: an institutional documentary for an anniversary
For its 80th anniversary, MGPTT (the mutual insurance fund of Morocco’s postal and telecom staff) commissioned ABRID Films to produce an institutional documentary. The goal was clear: tell eight decades of history without falling into a simple archive film.
The film had to meet four expectations:
- preserve and pass on the institution’s memory;
- showcase its social legacy;
- strengthen its image with members and partners;
- affirm its vision for the future.
An anniversary of this scale is a rare moment. That’s why the story had to speak to former members, current teams and future members alike.
Our approach: three narrative pillars
To meet this memory challenge, we built the story around three pillars. Each brings different material, and it’s the way they come together that gives the film its strength.
Archives as the foundation
First, we incorporated rare historical footage. It was carefully selected, then restored to bring back its full clarity.
Testimony as transmission
Next, we gathered testimonies. They highlight the key stages in the mutual’s development, told by the people who lived through them.
A contemporary vision
Finally, the direction adopts a modern, cinematic rhythm. The film thus connects the institution’s past, present and future.
A mixed-media audiovisual production
The MGPTT 80th anniversary film is built on a mixed-media approach. Each technique enriches the storytelling and gives depth to the institutional narrative. In practice, the film combines:
- live-action video, with filmed interviews and facilities;
- institutional motion design, which dresses and structures the story;
- animated historical archives, bringing old documents back to life;
- a contemporary visual treatment that ties everything together.
